Sharp ElectricalPrivacy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website and how we use it. It applies to sharpoldham.co.uk.

Last updated: 8 September 2026

Who we are

This website is operated by Sharp Electrical Oldham Limited (company number 09206883), a private limited company registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is 14 Carlton Avenue, Watersheddings, Oldham, OL4 2PD.

For privacy questions, email info@sharpelectrical.co.uk.

What this policy covers

It covers personal information collected when you visit this website, send a quote enquiry through the contact form, or get in touch by phone or email. It does not cover any separate contract, certificate or paperwork for electrical work once a job is agreed — that is handled as part of the job.

Information we collect

Depending on how you contact us, we may collect:

  • Your name
  • Phone number and email address
  • The type of work you select and any project details you provide, including location
  • Technical information created when you load the site, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, which our hosting provider may log to operate and secure the site

We do not ask for payment card details on this website, and we do not run a marketing mailing list.

How we collect it

We collect information that you give us on the contact form, by email or over the phone. Our website host may also collect limited technical logs automatically when you visit the site.

Why we use it

We use this information to:

  • Respond to quote requests and other enquiries
  • Discuss the work, arrange visits and keep a record of the enquiry
  • Keep the website running, secure and available

Under UK data protection law, we rely on taking steps at your request before entering a contract (for quote enquiries) and on our legitimate interests in running and protecting the website. Where you email or call us yourself, we use that information to deal with your request.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your details. We only share them where we need to, for example:

  • Our website host, currently Vercel, which stores and serves this site. Their servers may be outside the UK. They act as a processor for hosting, not to market to you.
  • Professional advisers or insurers if we are legally required to, or to establish or defend a claim
  • The police or a regulator if the law requires it

If you instruct us to carry out work, we may also need to share relevant details with certification bodies, local authorities or other contractors involved in that job. We will only do that where it is needed for the work or to meet legal duties.

How long we keep it

Quote enquiries that do not lead to work are kept only as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable follow-up period, then deleted or anonymised. If we carry out work, records needed for certification, guarantees, insurance or legal duties may be kept for longer — often several years, in line with those requirements.

Cookies

This website is not set up with advertising or analytics cookies. Your browser may still store small technical files needed for the site to function. You can block cookies in your browser settings; some parts of the site may then not work as intended.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • See the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct it if it is wrong
  • Delete it, in some cases
  • Restrict or object to how we use it, in some cases
  • Receive a copy of it in a portable format, in some cases

To use these rights, contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date at the top of this page will be revised when we do. The current version is the one published at /privacy.
